Motive sought in woman's stabbing death

March 09, 1992

Baltimore homicide detectives are searching for a motive in the stabbing death of a young woman whose badly decomposed body was found Saturday in her northeast Baltimore apartment.

Police said yesterday that the body has been tentatively identified as that of Gail Morton, 26, who lived in the apartment in the 5900 block of Radecke Ave.

Agent Arlene Jenkins, a police spokeswoman, said fingerprints will be used to make a positive identification.

The body was discovered about 1:45 p.m. by police officers investigating a complaint of a foul odor coming from the apartment. Agent Jenkins said investigators were uncertain when the woman was killed.
