DAVIDSONVILLE — Navy Petty Officer 1st Class James V. Bowie has reported for duty atthe Shore Intermediate Maintainance Activity, Newport, R.I.

He graduated from South River High School in Edgewater, and joined the Navy in 1982.

He joined the Marine Corps in 1987.

NEWMAN AT FORT BRAGG

Army Pvt. Terrance R. Newman, a preventive medicine specialist, has arrived for duty at Fort Bragg, N.C.

Newman graduated from South River High School in 1985.

CANALES IN MEDITERRANEAN

Marine Lance Cpl. Victor H. Canales is serving with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit inthe Mediterranean.

He joined the Marine Corps in 1989.

DERIN COMPLETES COURSE

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Masamichi Derin has completed the tactical electrical and environmental systems specialist course at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul, Ill.

He graduated from Meade Senior High School in 1990.

GALVAN PROMOTED

Loralee F. Galvan, a counter-intelligence agent at Fort Meade, has been promoted to the rank of staff sergeant.

BEST IN GERMANY

Army Pvt. Michael S. Best, a motor transport operator, has arrived for duty at Spinelli Barracks, Mannheim, Germany.

He graduated from Meade High School in 1989.

WILLIAMSON DECORATED AGAIN

Sgt. PaulG. Williamson Jr. has earned the Army Achievement Medal for Meritorious Service, Acts of Courage and other outstanding accomplishments for the third time.

He is an electronic warfare signal intelligence analyst at Key West Naval Air Station in Florida.

Willingham graduated from Old Mill Senior High School in Glen Burnie.

BOSCOE ARRIVES AT OSAN

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Michael T. Boscoe, an inventory management supervisor, has arrived for duty at Osan Air Base, South Korea.

He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1976.

GAVIN SERVES

Coast Guard Ensign Kevin P. Gavin, a 1986 graduate of Glen Burnie High School, was part of the recent Haitian Migrant Interdiction Operation aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant, out of Port Canaveral, Fla.

He joined the Coast Guard in 1987, and graduated from theU.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Conn., in 1991.
