Mount Hebron rips Loch Raven to advance, 74-28 Girls basketball playoffs

Kris Bryant scored a career-high 31 points and added 10 rebounds, leading top-ranked Mount Hebron to a 74-28 rout of visiting Loch Raven (14-5), in a Class 2A, Region II semifinal game.

Emily Yanero and Sandra Benson each added 12 for the Vikings (22-1), who will be host to Hammond in the regional final tomorrow night.

Yolanda Matthews scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter to lead Milford Mill (17-6) to a 59-56 victory over Wilde Lake (9-12), in Class 1A, Region II game at Owings Mills. Renita Young had a game high 30 points for Wilde Lake. Eboine Richardson had 19 rebounds and had 13 blocked shots for Milford Mill.

No. 20 Catonsville advanced to the Class 3A, Region II final, defeating visiting Franklin,75-38. Jill Altshuler led Catonsville (18-3) with 21 points and Amy Kuehl added 15. Jennifer Cooper scored a team-high 14 for Franklin (11-12).

Tannissa Dorsey scored a game-high 24, leading No. 12 Glenelg (16-7) to a 60-39 over visiting Allegany, in a Class 2A, Region I game. Glenelg pulled away in the final quarter, outscoring Allegany, 23-11. Jenny Leedom and Debbie Synder each added 14 for Glenelg, which will be host to Middletown in the regional final Friday night.

Led by senior guards Ava Tasker (10 points, three steals) andMichelle Meyer (eight, two), Broadneck outscored visiting Annapolis, 20-1, in the second quarter en route to a 50-19 Class 4A Region IV semifinal victory.

The Bruins (20-3) improved their winning streak to nine games, eliminating the Panthers (14-10) and earning the right to face top seed and host Old Mill in tomorrow's region final.

Old Mill, the defending state champion, is the last team to beat Broadneck.

Southern (Anne Arundel) beat visiting Central, 54-40, as Lindee Sisk had 15 points, Laekeka Wesley had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Kim Smith had 12 points in the Class 2A Region III semifinal. Southern (14-9) will play at top-seeded Damascus tomorrow night in the region final.

Visiting Brunswick outscored Owings Mills, 18-11 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 44-40 victory in a Class 1A, Region II game. Shelley McLane (20 points) scored 10 of Brunswick's 18 points in the fourth quarter. Socorro Jones scored 24 points for Owings Mills (12-9).
