Woman Is Robbed In Front Of Her Home

Two masked men robbed a 39-year-old Glen Burnie woman as she was getting out of her car in front of her home Tuesday night.

Detectivessaid the robbers walked up behind the woman in the 6500 block of North Charter Road at 11 p.m. One of them held a gun to the woman's headand demanded money. The second man grabbed her purse, then the pair ran away, police said.

Police said both robbers wore nylon stockings over their heads. The first man was described as black, about 6 feet tall and wearing dark clothing. The second suspect was a black male, about 5-foot-9, wearing dark clothing.


Narcotics detectives seized 22 bags of cocaine, a half-gram of PCP and some heroin residue from a North County hotel room they searched Monday night.

Investigators said they served the warrant at 11 p.m. They refused to name the hotel.

George Joseph Mitz, 28, of the 4900 block ofHayabana Court in Baltimore, and Dora Lee Mellon, 22, of the 3600 block of South Hanover Street in Baltimore, were charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of PCP and possessionof heroin. A 17-year-old Baltimore boy was charged on a juvenile citation with the same violations.


Two Glen Burnie teen-agers were robbed of their jackets Tuesday morning outside the Chesapeake Shopping Center.

Police said the boys were walking home from the shopping center at 9:20 a.m. when two robbers demanded their jackets.

The boys gave them their jackets afterthe robbers threatened to shoot them, police said. The thieves ran toward Shelly Road.

Police described the first suspect as a 16-year-old white male, about 5-foot-6 and wearing a white baseball hat.

The second suspect was described as a 16-year-old black male, about 6-foot-1.


An Edgewater man was arrested in Annapolis on drug charges Tuesday after he allegedly tossed abag containing crack cocaine on the ground while being chased by a city police officer.

Terry Brown, 26, of the 400 block of Contees Road, was charged with possession of narcotics, police said.

Policewere called to the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue at 9:45 a.m. when a resident reported seeing three men involved in an apparent drug transaction. When police arrived, one man was standing at the corner. He fled as the officer tried to question him, police said.

The officer who chased the suspect reported finding cocaine and marijuana near theparked car where Brown was first spotted, police said.
