Navy women lose again, 70-63

ANNAPOLIS -- William & Mary (7-18) broke away from Navy (10-15) in the final eight minutes and posted a 70-63 non-league victory at Alumni Hall last night. It was Navy's sixth straight loss and the final game of the regular season.

The Midshipmen overcame a nine-point second-half deficit to take their only lead of the game at 44-43 on a basket by Kim Drayton at 8:34, but the Tribe responded with a 10-2 run. A three-point shot by Drayton ended a Navy rally at 67-63 with 17 seconds left.

Drayton led Navy with 19 points, followed by senior Angie Dobbs (Perry Hall), 16 points. Dobbs, playing in her last game in Annapolis, scored 16. Dobbs' career total of 1,603 points places her third on Navy's all-time list and 10th on the state list.
