All five Democratic presidential candidates are expected for a debate at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Tawes Theater on the University of Maryland's College Park campus, said the Maryland Democratic Party, a sponsor of the event. But several of the candidates previously have said their appearances are tentative.
Former Sen. Paul E. Tsongas of Massachusetts has said he will be there. Former California Gov. Edmund G. "Jerry" Brown Jr., Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton and Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa have more recently said they would attend. Sen. Bob Kerrey of hTC Nebraska remains "tentative," a campaign spokesman said.
