Bandit With Shotgun Holds Up Restaurant

A robber with a shotgun held up a Severna Park pizza restaurant lateMonday night.

County police said the robber walked into Garini's Pizza in the 100 block of Ritchie Highway about 10:40 p.m. and took ashotgun out of a green bag he was carrying. He ordered the clerk to give him the money. The clerk turned over the cash, and the robber left the restaurant.

The gunman was described as a white man in his 20s with dark hairand a mustache. He was wearing a green work-type jumpsuit and green knit cap.

PASADENA MAN STRUCK BY HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER

A Pasadena manwas in serious condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Mountain Road Mondayevening.

Traffic investigators said Charles Fost Kampe Jr., 40, of the 7800 block of Catherine Ave., was walking along the shoulder ofMountain Road near Catherine Avenue about 6:20 p.m. when he was hit by a car that pulled out of an Exxon gas station.

The car did not stop and was last seen heading west on Mountain Road.

Anyone with any information about the accident should call police at 222-6145.

GUNMAN IS SOUGHT IN RESTAURANT HOLDUP

County police were looking yesterday for the gunman who robbed a Glen Burnie restaurant Monday morning.

Investigators said the robber walked into Chuck-E-Cheese's restaurant in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway about 9:45 a.m. He toldall the employees to lie on the kitchen floor and ordered the manager to get the money from the safe.

The manager gave the man the money, and the gunman left the store. Police could give no description of the robber.

SILVER SPRING MAN HELD ON DRUG CHARGE

A Silver Spring man was charged with disorderly conduct and possessing drugs early Sunday after he allegedly argued with and cursed an Annapolis police officer.

A police officer patrolling the City Dock area about 1:45a.m. was hailed by two men, who said that they were talking to two women when a man yelled at them, "If you don't have $500, you better not talk to them."

The officer then questioned the man, identified as Sean Patrick Jones, 22, of the 1300 block of Elm Grove Circle.

Jones allegedly became upset and yelled several obscenities at the officer, drawing a crowd, police said. The officer placed him under arrest for disorderly conduct and also charged him with possession aftersearching him and finding a plastic bag containing marijuana, policesaid.
