Current volunteers' needs and news:

Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area Visitor's Center, 5100 Deer Park Road, was dedicated in November and is currently seeking volunteers for such activities as exhibit planning, landscaping, improving trails, producing brochures and more. Call Sue Ellen May, 922-3044 or 795-6521, for details. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Johmins Community Health Resources Inc. is a non-profit minority community health education and information organization seeking volunteers to write grants and perform general office duties. Call Minnie C. Claughter, 358-5471.

Offenders Aid and Restoration of Baltimore Inc. (O.A.R.) wants volunteers to work one-on-one as mentors with ex-offenders. Those who want criminal justice system experience or those who just want to help are welcome. Contact Dave Eberhardt, 637-1066 or 637-1067.

Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center in Columbia wants hot-line volunteers and will be holding a training workshop beginning April 24. Applications must be taken by April 2 at the Center. Call 531-6006.
