Salisbury is tourney top seed

Salisbury State (24-1) will be the top seed when the Eastern States Athletic Conference tournament begins on Thursday in Salisbury.

Salisbury and the tournament's second seed, Allentown, will both have byes on Thursday. Allentown will play at 5:30 p.m. Friday against the winner of Thursday's game between No. 3 seed Frostburg State and No. 6 Lincoln. That game will be followed by Salisbury playing the winner of Thursday's game between No. 4 Cabrini and No. 5 Shenandoah.

The Eastern State's title game will be Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Capital Athletic Conference tournament will start on Tuesday with sixth-seeded Goucher College playing at No. 3 York. The winner of that game will play the winner of Tuesday's game between No. 2 Marymount and No. 7 Gallaudet.

In the other bracket, Catholic, the league's top seed, will play the winner of Tuesday's game between No. 4 St. Mary's and No. 5 Mary Washington.

On Thursday, Johns Hopkins will host a Middle Atlantic Conference Southern Division semifinal game on Thursday against Muhlenberg. If Hopkins wins, it will play for the Southern Division title against the winner of Thursday's game between Widener and Franklin & Marshall.

In women's tournaments, Goucher, seeded seventh in the Capital Athletic Conference, will play at No. 2 seed Mary Washington on Tuesday. The victor will advance to the semifinals against the winner of No. 3 seed York and No. 6 seed St. Mary's. In the other bracket, top-seeded Marymount has a bye, and will play against the winner of No. 4 Catholic and No. 5 Gallaudet.
