The Disney hit ''Beauty and the Beast'' got 182 votes as Best Picture, substantially better than callers' second favorite, ''The Silence of the Lambs,'' a beauty and the beast movie at the other end of the entertainment spectrum. ''Lambs'' received 129 votes for Best Picture. ''JFK'' was third with 117 votes, followed by ''Bugsy'' with 67 and ''The Prince of Tides'' with 52.
Fans of ''Terminator 2: Judgment Day'' slightly outnumbered naysayers as 278 callers thought that huge moneymaker should have earned a nomination while 243 thought not.
