LORETTO, Pa. -- Harkeem Dixon and Mike Fink combined for 36 second-half points to spark St. Francis to a come-from-behind Northeast Conference victory over Mount St. Mary's last night, 88-77, handing the Mount its 18th consecutive road loss.

The Mountaineers (6-21, 3-13) finish the regular season ninth in the conference. They will play at either St. Francis or Long Island University in the NEC tournament's preliminary game on March 3.

As has been the Mount's problem all year, it could not maintain a second-half lead. The Mount led 41-33 at halftime and held a 45-38 lead with 18 minutes remaining.

However, the Red Flash (11-14, 4-10) scored six straight over the next 50 seconds to cut the deficit to 45-44.

Mount St. Mary's fended off the first challenge, as 7-foot senior center Chris Cavanagh, who had eight of his 14 points in the first 10 minutes of the second half, kept St. Francis at bay.

Cavanagh gave the Mountaineers a 62-61 lead with 8:00 remaining, but picked up his fourth foul 24 seconds later.

With Cavanagh on the bench, St. Francis went on an 11-0 run to open up a 72-62 lead with 5:36 remaining. Dixon and Fink combined for all but two points in the stretch.

Dixon had 20 of his 22 points in the second half, and Fink scored 16 of his 18 as well after halftime. Antoine Patterson also finished with 18 points and a team-high eight rebounds for the Flash.

In the first half, Mount St. Mary's shot 60 percent (18-for-30) to open up an eight-point cushion. Phil Galvin led the charge with 13 points on 6-for-9 shooting.
