Baltimore City

THEFT: Central District -- Police reported that someone broke into a car yesterday while it was parked in the 1500 block of Maryland Ave. and stole several pieces of property. Police said the owner of the car, an out-of-state resident, said the property was valued at nearly $70.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A teen-age boy who lives in the 700 block of Lennox St. in Reservoir Hill reported he was riding his bike in the 200 block of McMechen St. yesterday evening when he was assaulted by an older youth who forced him off the bike and stole it. Police said the value of the bike was not immediately known and that the victim was not injured.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of the City Wide Bus Co. in the 2500 block of Aisquith St. reported that someone entered the firm's parking lot between Wednesday night and yesterday morning by climbing over a fence and stole 19 fire extinguishers from as many buses. Police said the value of the fire extinguishers was not known.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said someone broke into an office of the city's Urban Services Agency in the 1100 block of E. 33rd St. yesterday and stole a large quantity of containers of orange and apple juice. Police said the value of the beverages was not known.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Members of St. Paul Baptist Church in the 3100 block of The Alameda reported someone broke into the building and stole a small refrigerator from the kitchen. Police said the appliance was valued at more than $100.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into Grace Lutheran Church of Hamilton in the 5200 block of Harford Road between Wednesday night and early yesterday and stole property valued at $600. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police said an employee of Solon Automated Services in the 3100 block of W. Belvedere Ave. was collecting money from coin-operated washers and dryers in an apartment complex in the 5900 block of Radecke Ave. yesterday morning when he was accosted from behind by a man armed with a handgun, who ordered him to turn over a container of coins. Police said the gunman escaped with $500.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that an elderly woman was walking in the 4900 block of Parkside Drive shortly after 7 p.m. yesterday when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed onto the purse she was carrying. Police said the victim struggled with the man until she lost her grip on the purse. Police said the man escaped and that the purse contained an unknown sum.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 2800 block of Oakcrest Ave. reported that while her 1986 Jeep was parked in the 4500 block of Millbrook Road on Tuesday, someone broke into the vehicle and stole a cassette radio. Police said the property was valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A resident of the 500 block of Maude Ave. reported that someone broke into her home Wednesday by forcing the kitchen door and stole $200.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1300 block of Mosher St. told police he was walking near his home yesterday evening when he was attacked by three men who struck him with their fists and robbed him of a small sum. Police said the victim was not seriously injured and that the three men escaped.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police said a man armed with an unknown caliber handgun accosted a resident of the 1500 block of Robert St. early today while she walked near her home and robbed her of $2. The victim, who works in the laundry at the University of Maryland Medical Center, told police she was on her way home from work and was a short distance from her house around 12:05 a.m. today when the man stopped her, pressed the gun to her face and demanded money. After the robbery, the woman ran into her house and reported the robbery. A search of the neighborhood failed to locate the gunman.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of S. Carey St. reported that someone broke into his home yesterday by forcing the rear door and stole tools valued at more than $500.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Police reported that several pieces of stereo equipment were stolen from a dwelling in the 100 block of S. Stricker St. yesterday by someone who forcibly entered the house. Police said the value of the property was not known.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Marbourne Road reported that someone broke into his home yesterday evening and stole a shotgun. Police said the weapon was valued at more than $100.

SHOPLIFTING: Southern District -- Police today were seeking a man who robbed a grocery store in the 700 block of Washington Blvd. yesterday by secreting a ham and canned food under his jacket. Police said a store employee chased the man but was unable to catch him. Police said the food was valued at less than $15.
