Armed Man Captured In Pasadena Bedroom

A Severn man has been charged with assault after police said he threatened a woman with a gun early Tuesday morning.

Detectives said a31-year-old woman called police about 4 a.m. and said a man was threatening her with a gun in her home in the 7800 block of Coutros Courtin Pasadena.

Officers found a man hiding upstairs in a bedroom, carrying a .44-caliber Magnum handgun. The woman told police he had broken into thehouse shortly before she called.

Richard Edward Janey, 26, of the1700 block Circle Road in Severn, also was charged with breaking andentering.

SCHOOLGIRL'S FOOT RUN OVER BY BUS

A Davidsonville girl was in fair condition yesterday at Children's National Medical Centerin Washington after her foot was run over by a school bus Tuesday afternoon.

County police said the 11-year-old girl was getting off the bus at Patuxent Manor Road and Manor View Road in Davidsonville about 3 p.m., when her foot got caught in front of the tire.

The busdriver was not charged in the accident.

CITY MAN, 19, TREATED, FOR GUNSHOT WOUND

A 19-year-old Annapolis man underwent surgery yesterday after being shot in the head outside an apartment building, policesaid.

Annapolis police said an officer was flagged down by a motorist on Main Street at about 12:50 p.m. The man said a passenger in his car -- Carlos Jeffrey Wallace of the 1100 block of Madison Street -- had been shot in front of his Eastport Terrace home. The driver ofthe car took Wallace to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Police spokesman Officer Dermott Hickey said details on the shooting were not available yesterday and that investigators had not discovered a motive.

4800 block of Mountain Road: Feb. 16, entry gained through door. Color television and VCR taken. Total loss: Unknown.
