February 20, 1992

Five members of a Baltimore police drug enforcement unit were released on their own recognizance yesterday after being served with arrest warrants at the city state's attorney's office.

A city grand jury on Friday indicted the officers on charges of providing perjured testimony to gain search-and-seizure warrants in drug cases.

City State's Attorney Stuart O. Simms identified the indicted officers as: Chris Wade, 33; Effron Edwards, 27; Bernard Douglas, 27; John Mohr, 36; and Nicholas S. Constantine, 26.
