FREDERICK — Rose Dotson, who celebrated her 100th birthday Tuesday at the Frederick Health Care Center, said her personal mission helped her live a century.

"Every time I thought it was time to go home, God said I still have work to do," the former Mount Airy resident said. "The world is getting more sinful everyday. God picked me to represent his teachings and spread the word. My work is not over until he says it is."

Dotson, who spent her birthday laughing and reminiscing with friends, lived in her Mount Airy home until about five years ago.
