Baseball California Angels -- Signed free agent 1B Alvin Davis (.221, 12 HRs, 69 RBI for the Seattle Mariners) to a one-year contract for $800,000.

Milwaukee Brewers -- Invited IF Scott Fletcher (.206, 1 HR, 28 RBI for the Chicago White Sox) to spring training as a non-roster player.

Seattle Mariners -- Agreed to terms with P Mike Schooler (3-3, 3.67 ERA, 7 saves) on a one-year contract for $800,000. He had asked for $925,000 in arbitration; the club had offered $650,000.

Basketball Golden State Warriors -- Signed F Tony Massenburg (Maryland) to a 10-day contract.

Phoenix Suns -- Placed G Negele Knight on the injured list.

Fort Wayne Fury (CBA) -- Traded F Derrick Gervin (second in the league in scoring at 25.9 ppg) and G Carl Thomas to Grand Rapids for C Jeff Sanders and G Jerry Johnson.
