Annie Mae Nelson

Annie Mae Nelson, a retired domestic and laundry worker, died Saturday at the Liberty Medical Center after a heart attack. She was 79.

Services for Mrs. Nelson were being held today at Morning Star Baptist Church, 1053 W. Fayette St.

The former Annie Mae Oliver was a native of Kingstree, S.C., who came to Baltimore in 1936. She was a domestic before working at the Holland Laundry and the Fulton Family Laundry, then returned to domestic work before retiring 17 years ago.

The Druid Park Lake Drive resident had been a member since 1942 of the Fulton Baptist Church, which is rebuilding after a fire. She was a member of the usher board and the Flower Circle there.

Mrs. Nelson also was a member of the Improved Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the World and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her survivors include a daughter, Grace Davis of Baltimore; a grandson; and five great-grandchildren.
