Everything you need to feed last-minute guests or a hungry, busy family is waiting for you at the Bayou. Patrons can choose from the regular menu or order the economical "family of four special."

The special costs $15.95 and provides a meal for four people, including entree, vegetables, potatoes and dessert. Customers can select one item from each of six categories. Entrees, for example, include roast beef, baked ham, fried chicken, roast turkey and spaghetti. Customers also can choose among mashed potatoes, french fries, sweet potatoes or parsley boiled potatoes. Food is attractively packaged in microwave-safe containers.

The restaurant, which began offering carryout about a year ago, also sells its well-known homemade desserts. An entire strawberry pie, mounds of berries piled high in a flaky crust, is smoothered in a thick, strawberry-flavored coating for $12. Other pies, including coconut, chocolate, lemon and peach, are $7.00.

The regular menu also offers some tempting treats. The Manhattan clam chowder, appetizer-size, is $1.75. Steamed shrimp, oysters and clams are also available.

Entrees include filet mignon for $13.25, veal Parmesan is $10.75 and spaghetti with meatballs is $7.25. Entrees come with a garden salad, one side dish and rolls and butter.
