Baltimore City

ASSAULT: Southeastern District -- Shots were fired at a Royal Cab as the driver was bringing two passengers to the 100 block of Aisquith Street early yesterday. No one was injured, although several shots struck the cab, breaking the vehicle's rear window as the passengers sat in the back seat. Police today were seeking suspects.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A man approached a woman in the 2700 block of Foster Ave. at 3 a.m. yesterday and pointed a handgun at her. The robber fled after the woman surrendered $20 cash.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Someone broke into St. Elizabeth Catholic School, 35 N. Lakewood Ave., between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. yesterday and stole $500 worth of volley balls, basketballs and other sporting goods equipment.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, approached a 65-year-old man in the 3100 block of E. Biddle St. at 10:20 p.m. yesterday and demanded his cash and jewelry. The victim reported to police that he was wearing a ring valued at $1,500 and an assortment of other jewelry worth more than $5,000. He also said he had about $500 in cash.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A man knocked down a 51-year-old man in the 600 block of N. Collington Ave. and took $7 from him at 5:45 p.m. yesterday. The victim was not seriously injured.

THEFT: Northern District -- A woman reported to police that someone she knew took living room furniture from her home in the 3600 block of Parkdale Ave. on Tuesday. She put the value of the furniture at $5,000. No arrest had been made.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man approached a resident of the 300 block of W. 29th St. early yesterday and struck him with a 2-by-4 board, causing a laceration on his forehead. The assailant demanded money from the victim, but fled without getting any valuables.

THEFT: Northern District -- A man jumped over the counter of a McDonald's restaurant in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. at 10:12 p.m. yesterday, reached into the cash register and escaped with $170 cash.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man was in the 5200 block of Linden Heights Ave. at about 6 p.m. yesterday when he was approached by a man who placed a hard object in his side and demanded cash. The robber escaped with $230 cash.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone broke into a home the 3800 block of Penhurst Ave. Wednesday and stole items valued at $1,650. Among the missing items were a VCR, a gold bracelet and gold cuff links.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone broke into the Garrison Deli in the 3800 block of Garrison Blvd. between 9 p.m. Wednesday and yesterday morning and stole a television set and cigarettes.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A robber got a surprise package when he tried to steal money from a Rite Aid store in the 5100 block of Park Heights Ave. at 12:35 p.m. yesterday. The man grabbed a money bag from the store's manager and fled. The manager, however, reported that the bag was empty.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man put a gun to the head of a truck driver in the 5400 block of Reisterstown Road at 6:10 p.m. yesterday and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was employed by the Coleman Oil Co., of the 2400 block of St. Paul St.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A woman reported to police that someone broke into her home in the 3700 block of Belle Ave. some time between 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and 8:45 a.m. yesterday and took an undetermined number of items.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A gunman approached a man in the 5200 block of Reisterstown Road at 10 p.m. yesterday, pointed his weapon at him and demanded money. The robber fled with cash and items valued at $120.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- A Brooklyn man told police he was in the 900 block of Stoll St. at noon yesterday when a man approached him with a knife and forced him to surrender $245 in cash.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A man was in the 3200 block of Old Frederick Road at 1 a.m. yesterday when he was robbed by a gunman of $9 cash.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A Cumberland Street man reported to police yesterday that was robbed of $30 in cash at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Athol Ave.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A woman reported that she was assaulted and robbed of $38 by an unarmed man in the 4100 block of Woodridge Ave at 3 p.m. yesterday.

PURSE SNATCH: Southwestern District -- A man grabbed a purse from a woman in the 600 block of Mount Holly St. at 8:13 p.m. yesterday.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone forced open a door to the home of a woman in the 600 block of N. Rosedale St., between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. yesterday and took Social Security checks worth $586.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men wearing skullcaps approached a man in the 500 block of Druid Hill Ave. at 7:45 p.m. yesterday and pointed a sawed-off shotgun at him. The gunmen took $60 from the victim.
