Baltimore Orioles -- Agreed to terms with C Mark Parent and IF Mark McLemore (.281 in 228 at-bats for Class AAA Rochester) on minor-league contracts.

California Angels -- Agreed to terms with OF Junior Felix on a one-year, $590,000 contract.

Pittsburgh Pirates -- Named Ted Simmons GM.

St. Louis Cardinals -- Named Mike Jorgensen director of player development.

San Diego Padres -- C Benito Santiago (.267, 17 HRs, 87 RBI) won arbitration case, was awarded $3.3 million contract.

Seattle Mariners -- Agreed to terms with OF Greg Briley on a one-year, $570,000 contract.


NBA -- Suspended Chicago Bulls G Michael Jordan for one game without pay and fined him $5,000 for bumping a referee during a game Feb. 3.

Boston Celtics -- Activated G Dee Brown.


Anne Arundel CC -- Named James Shuck women's lacrosse coach. Shuck is also AACC's women's soccer coach.

Maryland -- Named A. Keith Inman, director of the Cardinal Athletic Fund at Louisville, assistant AD for development.


Buffalo Bills -- Signed PK Steve Christie.

Kansas City Chiefs -- Named Lynn Stiles consultant to the player personnel department.

Los Angeles Raiders -- Named Ronnie Jones linebackers coach.

Minnesota Vikings -- Named Tom Moore wide receivers coach and Richard Solomon outside linebackers coach.


TeamTennis -- Announced that Vail, Colo., has been awarded a franchise for the 1992 season.
