Man Indicted In New Year's Slaying

A 19-year-old New Jersey man was indicted yesterday on a first-degree murder charge in the slaying of a Glen Burnie man New Year's morning in Pioneer City.

Shawn Rauson of Linden, N.J., was also indictedon handgun charges in the shooting death of 20-year-old Robert Charles Queen of the 400 block of Darton Court, said Deputy State's Attorney Gerald K. Anders.

Rauson is being held in the county detention center on $350,000 bond.

According to charging documents, Queen was last seen alive infront of a home in the 1800 block of Richfield Drive shortly before the 4 a.m. shooting.

Witnesses told police they saw a man walk up behind Queen and, as Queen turned, shoot him. The charging documents said other witnesses implicated Rauson.
