Boxing Show Set

Round One Promotions will stage its second dinner/boxing show since moving to Michael's 8th Avenue in Glen Burnie on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Headlining the seven-bout card are heavyweights Jerry Jones (7-3) ofHillcrest Heights and Nathaniel Fitch (8-1) of Fort Bragg, N.C. in an eight-rounder. Jones once fought former World Boxing Organization champion Ray Mercer, and Fitch is a one-time Army champion.

Also appearing is junior welterweight Mark Padeletti (3-1-1) of Baltimore, who has built a strong local following from training at theHarding/Lowry gymnasium in Pasadena. Padeletti will meet Steve Frederick (3-2) of Washington in a six-rounder.

Other fights include Cliff McPherson of Glen Burnie vs. Cecil Sims of Loch Raven, six rounds, light heavyweight; and Carson McCourry of Pasadena vs.

Wayne McClanan of Virginia Beach, Va., four rounds, light heavyweight.

"Sugar Boy" Chew, an Annapolis native who now calls Glen Burnie his home,will meet an undetermined opponent in a four-round super middleweight clash, and two other four-rounders also are scheduled.

Dinner/boxing tickets are available for $30 and can be purchased at Michael's or by calling 760-2699. Boxing-only tickets will be sold at the door for $20.

The doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner served from 6 to 8 p.m. The first fight is scheduled to begin around 8:30 p.m.
