Streetcars Named Baltimore

WAY BACK WHEN

February 02, 1992

Baltimore's original streetcar era, fondly recalled in the photos on this page, came to a close in 1963. But beginning this April, with the opening of the North Central Light Rail Line, a new generation of streetcars will roll through the metropolitan area.

While we're on the subject of transportation, Way Back When needs vintage photographs of your first car for an upcoming page. We're looking for pre-1965 shots of that special set of wheels from your past. Hot Rods. Model T's. Hudsons. Heck, we'll even consider snaps of that ole hunk-of-junk of yours that burned more oil than an Ocean City french fry palace.

Send us your shot with caption information, along with your name, address, work and evening phone numbers. To have your photograph returned, please provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Send it all to: Way Back When, Sun Magazine, 501 N. Calvert St., Baltimore, Md. 21278
