Atlanta Braves -- Agreed to a one-year contract with IF Jeff Blauser (.259, 11 HRs, 54 RBI) for $925,000, a raise of $645,000. He had asked for $1,025,000 in arbitration; the club had offered $775,000.

Baltimore Orioles -- Signed P Dennis Rasmussen (6-13, 3.74 ERA with the San Diego Padres) to a contract with Class AAA Rochester and invited him to major-league training camp.

Boston Red Sox -- Agreed to a one-year contract with C John Marzano (.263) for $350,000, a raise of $150,000. Marzano, 28, had asked for $430,000 in salary arbitration; the club had offered $285,000.

California Angels -- Agreed to a one-year contract with OF Shawn Abner (.165, 1 HR, 5 RBI with the San Diego Padres; .228, 2 HRs, 9 RBI with the Angels) for $287,500, a raise of 107,500. Abner had asked for $325,000 in arbitration; the club had offered $250,000.

Cincinnati Reds -- Agreed to terms with P Norm Charlton (3-5, 2.91 ERA, 1 save) on a one-year contract for $1.1 million, a raise of $475,000. He had asked for $1.4 million in arbitration; the club had offered $900,000.

Kansas City Royals -- Agreed to terms with 3B Kevin Seitzer (.265) and OF Jim Eisenreich (.301) on one-year contract and with P Jerry Don Gleaton (3-2, 4.06 for the Detroit Tigers) on a contract with Class AAA Omaha. Seitzer got $1,625,000, the same salary he made in 1991. Seitzer had asked for $1.75 million; the Royals had offered $1,462,500. Eisenreich got $1.65 million, a raise of $700,000. He had asked for $2 million; the club had offered $1.3 million.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Agreed to terms with P Tim Crews (2-3, 3.43 ERA) on a one-year contract for $1,175,000, a raise of $505,000. He had asked for $1.45 million; the club had offered $950,000.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Agreed to terms with 1B Ricky Jordan (.272, 9 HRs, 49 RBI) and OF Wes Chamberlain (.240, 13, 50) on one-year contracts. Jordan got $660,000, a raise of $410,000. He had asked for $825,000; the club had offered $500,000. Chamberlain got $200,000, a raise of $95,000.

Pittsburgh Pirates -- Agreed to terms with OF Barry Bonds (.292, 25, 116) on a one-year contract for $4.7 million, a raise of $2.4 million. He had asked for $5 million; the club had offered $4 million.

Basketball

Houston Rockets -- Signed G Avery Johnson to a contract for the remainder of the season.

World Basketball League -- Appointed John F. Geletka, a Youngstown dentist and sports agent, as president and commissioner.

Omaha Racers (CBA) -- Placed former Washington Bullets G Steve Colter on the suspended reserve list.

Rapid City Thrillers -- Traded former Maryland G Matt Roe to Rockford for cash.

Midwestern Collegiate Conference -- Announced that Daniel "Tucker" DiEdwardo will leave as commissioner in April to become executive director of the Indiana Sports Corporation.

UC Santa Barbara -- Named Mark Arya men's soccer coach.

Fort Lewis -- Named Montana State defensive coordinator Kevin Donnalley, a former NFL defensive back, football coach.

Indianapolis -- Announced the resignation of basketball coach Bill Green, effective at the end of the season.

Iowa -- Iowa reserve G Paul Lusk, who left the basketball team earlier this week, has withdrawn from the university.

Miami -- Named Rich Olson (former Fresno State offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach) to the offensive coaching staff. Fresno led the nation in scoring (44.2) and total offense (541.9).

Minnesota -- Freshman Tom Reid, a football player arrested at his dormitory last week in connection with a shooting incident, was suspended from the team.

Pace -- Named Doug Bieling football coach.

Union -- Named John Audino football coach. Audino had been coach at Kean College for two seasons.

Buffalo Bills -- Named offensive line coach Tom Bresnahan offensive coordinator and said he would retain his offensive line zTC duties. Gave running backs coach Elijah Pitts the additional title of assistant head coach.

Indianapolis Colts -- Named Dwain Painter, the Pittsburgh Steelers receivers coach the past four years, receivers coach.

Los Angeles Rams -- Named Jim Erkenbeck offensive line coach; Milt Jackson wide receivers coach and Howard Tippett tight end and special teams coach.

Golf

PGA European Tour -- Banned Sweden's Johan Tumba 10 years for altering his score card from a 74 to a 72 in a pre-qualifying tournament Sept. 18.

Hockey

Washington Capitals -- Loaned LW Dave Tippett (2 goals, 7 assists) to the Canadian Olympic team. He was Olympic captain in 1984.

Victoria Cougars (WHL) -- Appointed former NHL player Rick Lapointe coach.

Olympics

U.S. Olympic Committee -- Named Willie Carow assistant coach of the 1992 U.S. biathlon teams.
