A vandal poured two gallons of motor oil onto an automatic teller machine outside a Crofton bank Sunday, county police reported.
Detectives said the vandal also poured the oil into the card reader and then broke the screen of the machine outside the Signet Bank in CroftonCenter on Route 3.
Damage to the machine was estimated at between $25,000 and $100,000, depending on how much oil got into the machine.
Police would not say whether the vandal was photographed by the machine's security camera.
GLEN BURNIE MAN, 25,ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION
A Glen Burnie man was charged with possession of narcotics Monday in Freetown Village, county police said.
According to the police report, two officers were on patrol in Freetown at about 10:20 p.m. when a man told them two other men were on Levy Court buying drugs.
The informant gave the officers the license plate number of their car and a description of the suspects. The officers saw the car drive by a few minutes later and stopped it.
The men in the car denied being in the area tobuy drugs, and allowed the officers to search them. One of the officers found two small rocks of crack in the passenger's hand.
WalterLeon Bandy, 25, of the 200 block of Margate Drive, was charged with possession of crack cocaine, the police report said. The driver was not charged.
