City police last night arrested two suspects in connection with two unrelated homicides, including the first of 1992.

About 9:30 p.m., Damone Scott, 19, of the 2600 block of S. Paca St. was arrested and charged in the fatal shooting Jan. 1 of Theresa Rozzell, 30, of the 2400 block of Loyola Northway. She was shot three times in the head and body.

Her body was found on the living room floor of her home. The victim's 9-month-old child was not at home at the time of the slaying.

Ms. Rozzell was the city's first homicide of 1992.

Police said they arrested Mr. Scott at a house in the 3600 block of Park Heights Ave.

A motive in the killing was not clear, police said. Mr. Scott was scheduled for a bail hearing today.

About 11 p.m., Andre Addison, 40, of the 500 block of N. Curley St., surrendered to homicide detectives and was charged with the strangulation death last Friday of Laternsha Matthews, 25.

The victim's body was found that day in the back yard of a house in the 1500 block of N. Patterson Park Ave.

Police said the killing probably was a random street attack. It was not known if the woman was robbed.
