But there isa ray of hope on the horizon -- baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse sign-ups begin this weekend in Pasadena. Can warm days be far behind? Families in the Riviera Beach area can stop by Sunset Elementary, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow and Feb. 1 and 8, to register for spring sports leagues.
Several organizations are participating in the sign-up. They are:
Havenwood Little League and Girls Softball, open to boys and girls, ages 5 to 18. Registration fees are $25 per individual, $30 a family.

Lake Shore Youth Baseball, open to youngsters ages 5 to 14, for T-ball and baseball, will accept registrations from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow and Feb. 1 and 8 at Lake Shore Elementary School, 4531 Mountain Road.
The fee is $30 for one child, $45 for two and $10for each additional child.
Late registrations will not be accepted.
Girls, ages 5 through 16, can register for softball and T-ball play with the Lake Shore Athletic Association from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,Feb. 8, 15 and 22 at Lake Shore Elementary.
Sign-up fee is $30 for one child, $45 for two or more children from one family.

St. Jane Frances School in Riviera Beachwill be celebrating Catholic Schools Week next week with a packed calendar of events that includes all segments of the school community.
The theme of the week, "Discover St. Jane Frances School -- Where Students Succeed" will be the focus of activities planned by the Student Activities Committee, Student Council and a special School SpiritWeek Committee.
Monday's activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. witha special Mass for students and parents, celebrated by the Rev. Dennis Tinder, pastor at St. Jane Frances Church.
Teacher AppreciationDays will also be celebrated on Monday. Cooks from the Home School Association have will prepare a special International Luncheon for teachers.
While volunteer parents monitor classes, the faculty will feast on gourmet goodies and enjoy a full hour for lunch.
Parents are invited to visit classrooms during the Open House from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Special activities and thank you letters will bepresented.
Wednesday will be National Appreciation for Catholic Schools Day. During religion classes that day, students will focus on "Our Education in Values."
The faculty will celebrate Student Appreciation Day on Thursday with a special gift to all St. Jane students: No homework!
Science fair judging will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday with the awards presentation at 7 p.m.
Friday's activities will end the week with a special "Crazy, Mixed-up Clothing Day" for students. "Modesty is the only rule," said Sister Mary Monaghan, principal.
The support staff, pastor and principal will be feted on Friday with a special box luncheon prepared by each homeroom.
Registration for 1992-1993 classes will be accepted throughout the week.
