Motorcyclist Killed In 8th Ave. Collision

A Pasadena man was killed yesterday morning when he was thrown from his motorcycle on 8th Avenue in Glen Burnie, police said.

Detectives said that Richard Joseph Leyendecker, 28, of the 1700 block of Bayside Beach Road, was driving his motorcycle in the wrong lane on 8th Avenue at about 2 a.m. when he collided with a Ford Bronco and was thrown from the motorcycle.


County police have charged a Philadelphia man with bringing cocaine into the state after arresting him Wednesday at the BWI Amtrak station.

Floyd Grant, 25, of the 3200 block of North Broad St. also was charged with manufacturing and possession of cocaine, police said.

According to the police report, undercover detectives stopped a man who had just gotten off a train from New York. The man gave the detectives permission to search his bags, and they found 104 grams of cocaine worth about $10,400.
