Woman Is Robbed Near Ritchie Highway

A 39-year-old Brooklyn Park woman was the victim of a purse-snatching as she walked to a dentist's office on Ritchie Highway.

County police said the woman was walking to the office near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Ritchie Highway at about 5:45 p.m. when the robber walked up behind her and snatched her purse.

Police described the robber as a white woman with brown hair, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and wearing a beige sweater and blue jeans.


A 16-year-old Glen Burnie youth was robbed of his baseball jacket at gunpoint Sunday morning, county police reported.

According to police, the youth was at a party in a home on Winston Road in Riviera Beach at about 12:30 a.m. when another teen-ager asked him to come outside.

Once outside, the teen-ager pulled out a gun and demanded the boy's N.Y. Yankees jacket.

The 16-year-old complied and the robber left in a gray Ford Escort with three other people.

Police described the robber as a black man in his late teens. He was 5 feet 9 inches tall and had a gold front tooth.
