Baltimore City

ROBBERY: Southern District -- A woman walking in the 900 block of Jeffrey St. around 10 p.m. yesterday was accosted by a man who threatened her and robbed her of $20, then escaped on foot.

SHOOTING: Eastern District -- A 38-year-old man was in critical condition today at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being shot several times last night while walking in the 2000 block of Ashland Ave. Police said the victim, who lived near the shooting scene, was walking by himself around 10 p.m. when he was approached by three men, one with a handgun. Police said the gunman fired several shots, hitting the man in the upper torso. The assailants fled, leaving the victim bleeding on the pavement. Police said no arrests had been made and they did not know the motive for the shooting.

SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Police said a man was shot last night during an argument over money in the 3000 block of W. North Ave. The victim, 39, told police that during an argument with another man over a debt shortly after 8 p.m. yesterday, the other man pulled out a handgun. Police said the victim turned and was attempting to flee when the man fired at least two shots that struck him in the back and buttocks. Police said the gunman fled and the wounded man was taken by ambulance to the Liberty Medical Center, where he was treated for gunshot wounds and listed today in good condition.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 5500 block of Boxhill Lane told police that while her 1984 Mercury was parked near her home over the weekend someone broke into the car through a window and stole a briefcase valued at $100.

THEFT: Northern District -- A Remington-area man said someone he knows entered his home in the 2800 block of Fox St. and stole furniture, clothing and a computer game tape, all valued at more than $600.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that someone broke into an apartment in the 2900 block of N. Calvert St. by forcing a rear door yesterday and stole a compact disc player, credit union card, checks and other property, all valued at more than $800.

THEFT: Northern District -- An out-of-town resident reported that while her 1989 Jeep Eagle was parked in the 2800 block of N. Calvert St. over the weekend someone broke into it through a window and stole cassette tapes valued at nearly $250.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- An employee of Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. told police that someone entered his office through an unlocked window and stole computer equipment over the weekend.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 900 block of Belgian Ave. reported that someone entered her bedroom over the weekend and stole more than $200 and a set of keys.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone broke into a 1987 Ford van parked in the 1000 block of Woodson Road over the weekend and stole a floor buffer, cleaning equipment and an AM-FM radio, all valued at more than $700.

THEFT: Northern District -- The owner of a 1985 Ford Crown Victoria told police that while his car was parked near his home in the 4800 block of Pleasant Place over the weekend someone broke a rear window and stole bowling equipment valued at nearly $140.

THEFT: Northern District -- Police reported that someone entered an office inside a building at the Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. over the weekend and stole a man's down jacket, gloves and a scarf. The victim said the property was worth more than $130.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4000 block of Elmora Ave. reported that someone entered her home yesterday afternoon by breaking the lock of a rear door and stole two stereo speakers, jewelry, cash and clothing, all valued at nearly $1,000.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of Al Packer Isuzu in the 5600 block of Belair Road reported that someone entered their new car lot over the weekend and stole the top and spare tire cover from a 1992 Isuzu. Police said the equipment was valued at nearly $700.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A woman reported she was walking in the 5900 block of Daywalt Ave. around noon yesterday when she was accosted by a man wearing blue jeans and a red ski mask who threatened her and robbed her of more than $100.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into an apartment in the 5000 block of Denview Way yesterday by forcing the front door and stole a VCR valued at $500.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said someone gained entry into an apartment in the 5300 block of Goodnow Road over the weekend by breaking a kitchen window and stole a TV valued at $400.
