POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Sophomore Izett Buchanan sparked a second-half rally to lift Marist College to a 94-80 Northeast Conference victory over Mount St. Mary's last night. Buchanan, who finished with 19 points, had nine during a 20-4 run in an eight-minute stretch of the second half.
Mount St. Mary's down by 43-39 at the half, hit on eight of its first 11 shots from the field in the second half and took a 59-58 lead on a three-point field goal by Phil Galvin with 12 minutes, 57 seconds remaining. Galvin's basket was the team's third straight three-pointer during its rally from a seven-point deficit.
The visitors extended their lead to 61-58 on a layup by Kevin Booth before Buchanan sparked the Red Foxes.
