WAY BACK WHEN

January 19, 1992

Gentle Reader,

Sun Magazine requests your assistance in starting a new photo feature called "Way Back When."

We wish we could say the idea of running family photographs from the readers, keyed to everyday and seasonal events, was original. Truth is, we are adapting an idea that has worked beautifully in several Sunday magazines across the country. With this new feature, we hope to provide a delightful gallery of snapshots and captions that give a satisfying -- of nostalgia and history to the magazine.

Our first subject? Blizzards we knew and loved (or abhorred). We're looking for scenes of snow shoveling, snowman making, igloo building and so on. Make sure there are identifiable folks in the picture (and that you identify them for us, please). We'll run the best of the lot in late February or early March.

Send your snapshot, along with your name, address, daytime phone and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:
