Price is the big snag on $7,000 stockings

What are being billed as "the world's most expensive stockings" are on display in the Leg Room store on Madison Avenue. Made by Jonathan Aston, an English hosiery company, they are a type now popular with Japanese brides. The pure silk hose, embroidered with diamonds, rubies and cultured pearls, cost $7,000, said Simon Abrahams, the store's chief executive.

You get a run in those things and you'll want to commit ritual suicide.
