Ocean City police and the FBI were searching last night for a man who robbed a bank in the resort yesterday afternoon and fled on a bicycle, police said.
Witnesses said the robber, dressed in dark coveralls, a ski cap and sunglasses, entered the Second National Federal Savings Bank in the Midway Shopping Center shortly before 2:30 p.m. He walked up to a window and gave a teller a note demanding cash. The note said the man had a gun, although witnesses did not report seeing a weapon. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash. He walked out of the bank and rode off on a bike that was parked nearby, police said. He was described as a white man about 5 feet 7 inches tall and from 30 to 40 years old.
