Assembly to seeks cure for ailing health care

When the statehouse gavels bang at noon today to convene the 90-day General Assembly session, the effort to balance the state's budget will dominate the legislature.


Unemployment insurance, workers compensationThe state, with mixed backing from business, will try to reform the unemployment insurance system to restore a much-depleted trust fund. And efforts will be made to reform the workers compensation insurance system, which is becoming increasingly costly for employers.
