Roach Reports For Duty

Navy Airman Recruit Timothy A. Roach recently reported for duty withthe pre-commissioning unit aircraft carrier George Washington, basedat Newport News, Va.

He is the son of Nancy and Bill Roach Jr. ofBel Air.


Marine Pfc. Michael W. Wolf, son of William and Elaine Wolf of Darlington, recently completed recruit training.

During the trainingcycle at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., recruits are taught the basics of battlefield survival, introduced to military daily routine and taught personal and professional standards.

The 1991 graduate of North Harford High School joined the Marine Corps inAugust.


Air Force Airman Barbara A. Taylor, a munitions operations specialist, has arrived for duty at Hanscom A.F.B., Boston.

She is the daughter of Mary L. and John P. Huber of Joppa.

Her husband, Cecil, is the son of Cecil D. and Cora Taylor of Street.

The airman is a 1987 graduate of Fallston High School.


Navy Seaman Recruit Richard D. Clark, son of George F. and Jo Ann Clark of Darlington, recently returned froma six-month deployment aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Dahlgren following the multinational naval exercise UNITAS.

Conducted each year since 1960, the UNITAS operation joins ships, aircraft and naval ground forces of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet with South American units for six months of combined naval warfare exercises.

UNITAS is designed to improve cooperation between U.S. and South American forces.

While participating in UNITAS Clark traveled more than 22,000 miles and visited several South American ports, including Cartagena andMalaga, Columbia; Manta, Ecuador; Calloa, Peru; Coquimbo, Valparaiso, Talcahuano and Punta Arenas, Chile, and Ingeneiro White, Argentina.

The USS Dahlgren's home port is in Norfolk, Va.

Clark, a 1985 graduate of North Harford High School, joined the Navy in 1987.


Navy Fireman Kerry D. Herrin, a 1990 graduate of Aberdeen High School, recently reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

He joined the Navy in October1990.
