The Middleton Tavern, 2 Market Place, Annapolis, 263-3323... By MARY MAUSHARD | MARY MAUSHARD,The Evening Sun BOP, 802 N. Charles St., 234-0500. Mount Vernon's BOP doesn't seem to have lived up to its early promise, when its pizzas sported soft-shell crabs and other exotica, and a tantalizing new pasta and seafood menu was reportedly in the works. But BOP still offers some of the best pizzas in town. The decor is sort of Kafkaesque, although some diners might consider murky colors and sinister murals a refreshing antidote to most pizza parlors' excessive cheeriness. $inexpensive. Prices are extraordinarily low, and it's bring your own beer. We particularly liked our greaseless, chunky samosas, some lovely pakoras of onion and eggplant (served with chilied green coriander sauce sour-edged with pomegranate), a cool salad of garbanzos, potato, tomato and cucumber, and a delightful chicken biryani -- an Indian chicken fried rice with almonds and raisins. $inexpensive.
