Navy tops Bradley, 65-53, to break a 4-game skid

HONOLULU -- Nick Marusich scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Navy to a 65-53 victory over Bradley in their seventh-place game of the Rainbow Classic last night. The win ended a four-game losing streak.

The Midshipmen made 12 consecutive free throws for a 25-12 lead, but Bradley closed the first half with a 13-3 run to get within 28-25.

The Braves took the lead for the first time at 31-30 on a field goal by Charles White with 15 minutes, 34 seconds left, but Marusich scored nine straight to send Navy ahead for good. Marusich, a senior and Navy's tallest player at 6 foot 9, also had a team-high 10 rebounds.

Navy shot 37 percent from the field but converted 25 of 29 free throws. Bradley made one more field goal, but was 11-for-17 from the foul line.
