Man, 43, is city's 302nd murder victim

December 30, 1991

A 43-year-old Southwest Baltimore man became the city's 302nd homicide victim yesterday -- shot to death during a domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend, police said.

John Robinette of the 400 block of Eastlynne Avenue was pronounced dead when police arrived at his row house about 4:20 a.m. He had been shot once in the head. The city is now three murders away from reaching last year's total of 305.

Renne Meice, 24, was charged with murder and a handgun violation.

She was being held without bond last night.

A homicide detective said Mr. Robinette pulled out a revolver during a fight with his girlfriend, who somehow got hold of it and pulled the trigger. Police said they are investigating whether Mr. Robinette fired the weapon at the woman first.
