50 Years Ago (week of Dec. 21-27, 1941):

* The citizens of Elkridge, Harwood and Hanover met this week at the Hanover-Harwood Community Hall to plan ways to raise funds for the Red Cross and to train fordefense work. A fund-raising card party was scheduled for January, and classes in first aid, nutrition, and canteen work were discussed.

* In an effort organized by the Student Council at Ellicott City High School, holiday food baskets were prepared in homerooms by students for distribution to needy Ellicott City families.

25 Years Ago(week of Dec. 18-24, 1966):

* For the fourth consecutive year, students in Roger Marshall's Woodworking II class at Howard High Schooldistributed handmade toys and games to children at St. Agnes Hospital.

* A Dayton family lost its entire flock of 13 prize-winning milk goats this week when the flock was attacked by a pack of wild dogs.
