Millersville Man Charged With Arson

December 27, 1991

A Millersville man was arrested and charged with arson after firefighters extinguished a blaze on Christmas Day in a closet of a group home where he lived, a fire department spokesman said.

John Plummer,57, told firefighters that he set clothing inside a basement closet on fire in the home in the 400 block of Kenora Drive, Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Gary Sheckells said. The department got the call at 5:19 p.m. and declared the fire under control less than an hour later, after 14 firefighters went to the scene.

No one was injured.

Sheckells said the split-foyer house, owned by Eunice Clarke, serves as a home for elderly and mentally disabled people.
