Christmas doesn't get much merrier than this -- $3.5 million for two winners in the Christmas Eve Lotto drawing by the Maryland State Lottery Agency.

However, one ticket-holder has yet to come forward and the North Carolina man who holds the other winning ticket has decided he would rather enjoy his wealth in relative obscurity, lottery spokeswoman Shirley Miller said.

Miller said the man, a resident of Winston-Salem, N.C., declined to sign a publicity release after he was confirmed as a winner and could be identified only as W. Lewis. He bought the ticket at Village Liquors on Md. 108 in Clarksville.

The second winning ticket was purchased at a Carroll County convenience store, Miller said.

The winning numbers were 16, 27, 31, 32, 34 and 45.

Forty-two people matched five of the six and will win $1,503 each. There were 2,830 third-tier winners, who will receive $38 each for matching four numbers.

The Saturday jackpot will be $1 million and the lottery will return to its regular Wednesday-Saturday drawing schedule next week, Miller said.
