Motorists alerted to roadwork

December 24, 1991

State transportation authorities advise that construction will affect motorists on the following state roadways this week:

* U.S. 1 Northbound -- Traffic from Miller Road to Sheradale Drive has been switched to the new three-lane roadway while the southbound lanes are reconstructed. There will be two lanes of traffic southbound until noon, and then two lanes northbound. A concrete barrier prevents left turns to and from Miller Road.

* I-95 North -- Single lane closures in northbound lanes from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Single lane closures southbound from White Marsh Boulevard to the Baltimore Beltway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily and 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday. Expect lane closings in both directions for paving and construction from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

* Beltway (Interstate 695), inner and outer loops -- From Belair Road to Perring Parkway, expect delays and single lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. during bridge construction. Two lanes may be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for construction.

* Gambrills Road/Md. 32 -- Until spring, Gambrills at Md. 32 will be closed for construction of a bridge over Md. 32. Detours posted.

* U.S. 50/U.S. 301 -- At Cape St. Claire Road intersection, a new traffic pattern is in effect for eastbound traffic, requiring a right turn using exit 29-B.

Work is to be suspended on Christmas Day and resume Thursday.
