Here's what to look for if you're traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
The Ostend Street bridge over Camden Yards is closed because of construction. This is for bridge replacement and reconstruction of Ostend Street from Russell to Sharp streets and the resurfacing of Ostend Street from Sharp to Leadenhall Street. Project is to be completed in May 1992.
Fallsway between Eager, Biddle and Chase streets is closed due to reconstruction of Fallsway and Chase Street bridges.
Bus route changes:
The MTA has scheduled the following changes in bus routes for this week. Information: 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.
Route and layover point has been changed. Westbound via regular route on Northern Parkway to Bellona Avenue, west on Northern Parkway, north on Springlake Way, south on Bellona, east on Northern Parkway to the layover at the first transit stop east on Bellona Avenue. Eastbound from the layover eastbound on Northern Parkway at the first transit stop east of Bellona, then east on Northern via regular route.
No. 11 -- On Dec. 24, between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Springlake Way in the vicinity of the lakes will be closed because of a Christmas celebration. Northbound via regular route to Charles Street and Homeland Avenue, north on Charles, east on Northern Parkway, north on Springlake, then via regular route. No change southbound.

No. 20 (Dundalk Community College) -- Effective tomorrow, buses will resume regular route and layover point at Dundalk Community College.
No. 21 -- Effective until further notice. Eastbound via regular route on Biddle Street to Guilford Avenue, north on Guilford, east on Federal Street, south on Greenmount Avenue, east on Biddle, then via regular route. No change westbound.
Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve Service -- On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, bus line will operate five additional mid-day trips from downtown to White Marsh. First trip will begin at 12:15 p.m. at Guilford and Centre streets, with last trip leaving same location at 1:40 p.m. Buses will run approximately every 20 to 30 minutes.
On Christmas Eve, buses and the Baltimore Metro will follow regular schedules. Christmas Day, buses will follow Sunday schedule and the Metro will be closed.
On New Year's Eve, buses will follow regular schedule. The Metro will follow regular schedule, and hours will be extended until 2 a.m.
On New Year's Day, buses will follow Sunday schedule and the Metro will be closed.
MTA Information center
On Christmas Eve, the MTA's Information Center (410-539-5000) will be open from 6 a.m. to noon. Center will be closed Christmas Day and reopens at 6 a.m. Dec. 26. On New Year's Eve, the center will be open from 6 a.m. to noon. Center will be closed New Year's Day and reopens at 6 a.m. Jan. 2.
