Baltimore City

THEFT: Northern District -- Vicky Owen, of the 5800 block of Roland Ave., reported that someone entered her property Tuesday or yesterday and removed several feet of copper downspouting from the side of her home. Owen told police the thief also stole a 6-foot Christmas tree that she recently purchased. Police said the total value of the downspouting and the tree was more than $200.

ROBBERY TRY: Northern District -- James Rowe, of the 3700 block of W. Garrison Ave., told police he was in the 2400 block of W. Belvedere Ave. early yesterday morning when he was stopped by an armed man who placed the weapon into his back and demanded money. Rowe reported to police that when he told the gunman he had no money, the gunman pressed the weapon to his head and threatened to shoot him. Instead, the gunman fled the scene.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 1000 block of E. Belvedere Ave. reported to police that someone entered her home yesterday and stole a VCR and three musical instruments. The victim, Florence Hudson, told police the VCR, a saxophone, flute and coronet were valued at more than $3,000.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said someone forced their way into a garage in the 700 block of Gladstone Road between Monday and yesterday and stole a bike and a hedge clipper. Police said the property was valued at nearly $300 and that entry was gained by breaking a lock.

THEFT: Northern District -- Karen Shaw, of the 1000 block of E. Northern Parkway, reported that while her car was parked on the lot outside Sinai Hospital in the 2400 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Someone stole all four of the car's wheel covers. Police said they are valued at more than $400.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that property valued at nearly $200 was stolen from a garage in the first block of Elmhurst Road. Police said a bike was stolen and entry was gained through an unlocked door.

THEFT: Northern District -- Steven Bartenfelder, of the 1600 block of Myamby Road in Baltimore County, reported that while his 1988 Pontiac was parked in the 100 block of E. Cold Spring Lane someone forced his way into the vehicle and stole a coat and jacket. Bartenfelder told police the property was valued at more than $300 and that entry into the car was by someone breaking a window.

LARCENY: Northern District -- Employees of Uptown Photo in the 6300 block of York Road reported that someone entered the store yesterday during business hours and removed a Nikon 35mm camera from a display case. Police said the camera was valued at more than $350.

ASSAULT: Northern District -- Police said a 14-year-old resident of the 5600 block of Lothian Road reported he was in the 5500 block of Midwood Ave. yesterday evening when he was attacked from behind by another youth who struck him over the head with a length of pipe. Police said the armed youth escaped and that the victim received a minor head injury that did not require medical treatment.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police reported that David Barnes, of the 2500 block of Keyworth Ave., was robbed yesterday afternoon by a man armed with an unknown caliber handgun who stopped him as he walked in the first block of S. Smallwood St. Police said the gunman escaped with less than $50.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police said an unknown man armed with a handgun stopped James Vines, of the 700 block of Poplar Grove St., as he walked near his home around 7 p.m. yesterday and demanded his money. Police said the gunman robbed Vines of less than $50 and escaped on foot.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Maxine Harrison, of the 200 block of S. Edgewood St., reported she was walking near her home yesterday evening when she was attacked by a man who struck her in the face with his hand and robbed her of the purse she was carrying. Police said the purse contained cash and property, all valued at $30.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Linda Gilliam, of the 1000 block of Poplar Grove St., reported she was in the 1400 block of Bloomingdale Road Tuesday night when she was attacked from the rear by a man who knocked her to the pavement and stole her purse she. Police said the man escaped with $20.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police said three men attacked Tyrone Fields, of the 500 block of Poplar Grove St., as he rode his bike in the 700 block of Longwood St. and robbed him of the bike, a radio and his jacket. Police said one of the men was armed with a handgun and that property taken from Fields was valued at more than $600.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 4200 block of Euclid Ave. reported that someone broke into his apartment by forcing a rear door and stole a TV and a telephone answering machine. Police said the property was valued at nearly $600.
