Baseball Minnesota Twins -- Agreed to terms with P Bob Kipper (2-2, 4.65 ERA in 52 relief appearances for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season) on a 1-year contract.

Basketball San Antonio Spurs -- Signed G Morlon Wiley. Waived G Avery Johnson and F Jud Buechler. Activated F Terry Cummings from the injured list.

Colleges Armstrong State -- Announced the resignation of Doug Riley men's basketball coach. Named Griff Mills men's basketball coach.

Bethune-Cookman -- Former Miami Dolphins OG Larry Little said that he has resigned after 9 seasons as football coach (43-49-2 record).

Florida -- Agreed to terms with Steve Spurrier, football coach, to a contract extension through the 1997 season.

Linfield -- Announced the retirement of Ad Rutschman, football coach.

Cincinnati Bengals -- Placed CB Lewis Billups and CB Rod Jones and G Paul Jetton on IR. Signed TE Jay Koch, LB Tom Walton and RB Mel Waters to the practice squad.

Kansas City Chiefs -- Re-signed QB Steve Pelluer. Waived TE Troy Sadowski.

New York Jets -- Placed WR Dale Dawkins on non-football injury list. Agreed to terms with PK Raul Allegre.

Horse racing Garden State Park -- Named Larry Lederman track announcer.

Hockey Hartford Whalers -- Sent C Joe Day and RW Chris Tancill to Springfield (AHL).

San Jose Sharks -- Recalled RW Peter Lappin and D Rick Lessard and D Pat MacLeod from Kansas City (IHL).

Baltimore Skipjacks (AHL) -- Assigned LW Dave Morissette (no points in 2 games) to Hampton Roads (ECHL). Recalled C Victor Gervais (12 goals, 27 assists in 24 games) from Hampton Roads.
