Cocaine Worth $650 Found, 2 Arrested

Two Brooklyn Park residents were charged with possession with intentto distribute cocaine after police said they found the drug in a home Monday.

County police narcotic investigators said they served a search warrant at about 9 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of Fourth Avenue. They found about $650 worth of cocaine, police said.

Ronald Alan Montgomery, 37, and Darlene Frances Rife, 31, who live in the house, were taken to Northern District station to be charged.


A Baltimore cab driver was robbed early yesterday morning by two men he picked up in Glen Burnie.

Detectives said the driver went to the Crown gas station at the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Route 648 at 4:30 a.m. to pick up the first passenger. The passenger asked the driver to pick up the second man at Pasadena Crossroads Mall on Ritchie Highway.

The driver took the men south on Ritchie Highway to the Valley Brook apartment complex.

They demanded the driver's money, and he turned a small amount of cash over to them.

Police described the first robber as a black man, about 20 years old, 6 feet tall and with a medium build. He was wearing a Los Angeles Raiders jacket and a ski hat.

The second robber was described as black, in his early 20s, wearing blue jeans and a black leather jacket. He was armed with an automatic handgun.


A 28-year-old Waldorf man was injured Saturday night when two men picked him up and threw him through a plate glass window, county police reported.

Detectives said the victim was in the Dunkin' Donuts shop in the 7100 block of Ritchie Highway at about 2:15 a.m. When he and his friends left the shop, five men came running toward him from a bar's parking lot. The victim and his friends began fighting with the group.

Two men picked up thevictim and threw him through a large plate glass window at the doughnut shop, police said.

The victim was taken to North Arundel Hospital, where he was treated for several deep cuts on his legs and face,police said.
