Teen-ager is charged in shooting

December 18, 1991

City police said an 18-year-old West Baltimore man was to appear today at a bail hearing following charges that he shot another teen-ager while handling a revolver inside a house in the 900 block of McDonogh St. last evening.

Eastern District police said Danta Anderson, of the 1500 block of N. Fulton Ave., was charged with the attempted murder of Jerrod Sanders, 17, of the 3600 block of Belle Ave.

Police said Anderson was allegedly handling a .38-caliber revolver yesterday evening inside the house when the gun discharged. Police responding to a report of a shooting found Sanders sitting in a chair bleeding from a bullet wound to the head.

He was rushed by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was listed in extremely critical condition today, police said.
