CURRENT volunteers' news and needs:

Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church is in great need of volunteer singers who will rehearse one evening a week and sing in the church choir. Language is not a problem. The church is on Fairmount Avenue near Church Home Hospital. Those who are interested should call the choirmaster, David Mattson, at 234-3043 and leave a message.

The Public Justice Center, a non-profit corporation dedicated to protect the legal rights of the underrepresented, encourages attorneys and non-attorneys to volunteer. For details, call Linda Speert, 625-9409.

Consumer Protection Division of the Maryland Attorney General's Office needs volunteers to work in its Complaint Handling Unit to answer telephone calls and the hot line. Call Lorraine Bronstein, 576-6550.

Asthma & Allergy Center of Johns Hopkins wants adult asthmatics and their family members for one-time blood, skin and breathing tests for a new research study on the role of inherited factors in asthma. Compensations will be $50 each member. Details: 550-0551.

Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins wants volunteers ages 59 to 74 for a 10-year study of deterioration of the eye's macula and for cataracts. For details call 955-2408.
