Elizabeth Mae Williams of Annapolis died of cancer Tuesday at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Williams retired five years agoafter more than 20 years with the payroll department of the United Mine Workers.

Ms. Dillon is survived by two daughters, Anita Askins of Annapolis and Pattsy Hill of Miami; two sons, William Smith of Emmitsburg andRichard Smith of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Dorothy Duncan of Salem,Va.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.



Services for Benedikt Harpfer of Gambrills will take place at 10a.m. today at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Davidsonville. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Cemetery in West River.

Mr. Harpfer, 91, died Wednesday at Anne Arundel Medical Society of heart failure.

Born in Germany, he moved to Philadelphia in 1925 and worked as a gardener in the Pennsylvania and Washington areas.

Mr. Harpfer is preceded in death by his wife, Wilhelmine Piel Harpfer.

Survivors include his niece, Juliana Walch Ammon of Crofton, and nephew, John Walch of Oregon.
